Here's food for thought about portable architecture, presented by Siegal (architecture, Woodbury U., Burbank, California), who gives a history of nomadic design and describes her love for it in her introductory text (Andrei Codrescu and Robert Kronenburg also contribute comments in a foreword and preface). She then presents a selection of projects by some of the creative forces undertaking such work. Among these are small, individual-sized structures, the city-scaled Global Olympic Village, the interior of a Boeing jet, the practical design of a mobile office space, and the imaginative design of a Rolling Stones stage set.
