Ancient Inscriptions in the Americas
by Phil Leonard & Bill McGloneSeems there are quite a few archeoastronomy sites right here in our own
country. Phil Leonard has found Equinox and Solstice indicators in Colorado, that, at these
times of year, play with rays of sun or with the sun's appearance on the horizon. He'll
tell us about petroglyphs lined up with rocks, sighting lines pecked into the rock, and
the spiral and parallel patterns that reveal the sites he has studied as astronomical
timekeepers.
Bill McGlone, a retired engineer, photographed and studied petroglyphs in 36 states. He
wrote about the possibility of pre-Columbian Old World inscriptions in America and
evaluated hundreds of potential examples of Old World inscriptions. During the past twenty
years, Bill made amazing discoveries in Southeast Colorado, and inspired many of us to
continue his work. Bill McGlone died in January 1999 before his most recent book was
completed.

Book
Description (from Laura Lee)
Bill McGlone and Phil Leonard are the two of the five authors of
Ancient American Inscriptions: Plow Marks or History?
featured on The Laura Lee Show.We don’t think of our own
country as having much in the way of ancient history or temples.
Here are two researchers whose unusual detective work is turning
up significant sites. McGlone and Leonard predicted the site of
archeo-astronomical markings, by reading petroglyphs and ancient
inscriptions on Colorado caves and cliff walls. And on the
Solstices and Equinoxes, they are witnessing the sun perform,
just as predicted. What’s more, they are tracing much of the
epigraphs (writing in stone) to the Old World, bringing up the
Diffusion issue. Who were these ancient artists, schooled in
astronomy, and for whom the solstice and equinox were so
important?
