Tarot Magic CD-Rom
by Christine Payne-Towler
The History of Tarot
Tarot most likely began as a game, like today's playing cards, and was later used as a
means of divination. Some belive that the Tarot were origionally part of an Egyptian book,
called "The Book of Thoth," and were spread around the world by the Egyptians
and Gypsys. A German monk, Johannes, discribes a game played in 1379 in Europe with the
Tarot, as well.
The Tarot Itself
Tarot decks typically have 78 cards, divided into two groups, called the Major and
Minor Arcana, or the Trump Major and Trump Minor. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards,
labelled I to XXI and featuring a card with the label 0, also known as "The
Fool". The Minor Arcana is made of 56 cards, and is divided into four
"suits," which are known as Wands, Cups, Swords, and Penticles. These suits are
called by different names in different decks. Each suit has 14 cards in it, labelled I
through X, and four "Royal Court" cards: the Page, the Knight, the Queen, and
the King. The Minor Arcana was later separated, the Knight and Page were combined to
become the Jack, or Knave, and the names of the suits changed from Wands to Clubs, from
Cups to Hearts, from Swords to Spades, and from Penticles to Diamonds to form modern
playing cards
Description
(from the publisher)
According to Trends Research Inst., Tarot has become a
mainstream form of "do-it-yourself therapy, a way of unlocking secrets of the self
and providing directions toward life goals." Tarot Magic
provides you genuine Tarot expertise -- whenever you want for free!
Use your own deck, or
one of ten within the program, to lay out a spread -- Tarot
Magic's Teach Me module can guide you through the process if you like. Tarot Magic will narrate an exquisite and precise
reading for you -- according to the exact position the cards land in. This is a quantum
leap beyond books and shareware that only give you a rough general meaning of cards and
positions. And it's a lot more fun!
The ability to save and/or print readings, including a graphical layout of your cards,
is a ground-breaking feature that lets you record your readings
-- including those
created with physical cards -- in a convenient and aesthetic way. If you use your favorite
physical deck, it's easy to tell the program which spread you've chosen and which cards
landed where. Then Tarot Magic can print out
that spread with graphical images of cards and the specific interpretations.
Tarot Magic invites you to a transformative
experience. Order one now, so you and your friends can benefit from expert Tarot any time
you want. Get the answers you need about relationships, money, career, etc. -- in the most
enjoyable and educational way.
